On the morning of July 6, the field team of the Security Department of Xiangtan Electrochemical Technology Co., Ltd., accompanied by volunteers from the Liancheng Volunteer Association, brought supplies such as rice, cooking oil, and noodles to the home of the Dai brothers to visit the two brothers who suffer from congenital cerebral palsy. The brothers live in the Chaoyuan Group of Xitang Village, Bantang Subdistrict, Xiangtan High-tech Zone. The elder brother is 23 years old, and the younger brother is 17. Despite being at the prime age of their lives, they are unable to take care of themselves due to the debilitating effects of their illness. Their father passed away unexpectedly in 2008, leaving the entire burden of supporting the family squarely on their frail mother, who has been unable to work because of her responsibility for caring for her two sons. With no stable source of income, the family struggles to make ends meet, and life is extremely difficult for the mother and her two sons. Upon witnessing the dire circumstances faced by the Dai brothers, Minister Liao of the field team immediately expressed his willingness to provide long-term assistance to the two brothers.

It’s heartwarming to see that, despite the hardships life has thrown at them, the two brothers have never given up hope. To ease their mother’s burden, the brothers taught themselves how to make beaded crafts and sell their handmade creations to help support the family. Their thoughtfulness toward their mother and their relentless spirit of self-reliance deeply touched the members of the field team. Upon seeing the brothers’ carefully crafted handicrafts, everyone eagerly stepped forward to pick out pieces they loved. In total, the brothers’ handmade items were purchased for 360 yuan. Even after making their own modest payments, several members of the field team—who themselves don’t earn much—unhesitatingly transferred an additional 500 yuan to the brothers. Before leaving, the field team members repeatedly encouraged the mother and her two sons, assuring them that their lives would only get better and better. They also told them that they could reach out to the team anytime if they needed any further assistance. Everyone sincerely hoped that their small contribution could bring a bit of warmth to this struggling family!
Here, the field operations team also calls on all our colleagues—brothers and sisters—to pay close attention to and actively participate in volunteer activities, contributing your own part. What we can do may not be much, but when our collective efforts come together, we can bring even more warmth and comfort to those less fortunate individuals and families!
