On the morning of March 31, representatives from eight parties, including Xiangtan Electrochemical Technology Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Lihe Houpu Technology Co., Ltd., jointly signed an investment agreement for a new ternary cathode material project, with a committed investment amount of 60 million yuan.
The ternary cathode material is a new type of high-energy chemical power source characterized by high capacity, high power, miniaturization, and zero pollution. It is widely used in industries such as new-energy vehicles. Currently, driven by the rapid growth in demand for power batteries for electric vehicles, consumer electronics, electric bicycles, and other applications in China, the market demand for this product is expected to maintain a sustained growth trend in the future, with promising long-term prospects. According to industry market analysis, by 2020, the demand for this material is forecast to reach 200,000 tons, with an average annual growth rate remaining above 30%.
After multiple rounds of negotiations, the technical team from our company and Tsinghua University have finally reached a comprehensive agreement on the ternary precursor project. In the first phase, we will build a pilot production line with an annual capacity of 1,000 tons. Our company will invest 10 million yuan, acquiring a 16.67% stake, and we plan to complete construction and start operations by December 31 of this year. The completion of this project will help extend our company’s upstream and downstream industrial chain for new-energy battery materials, optimize our industrial layout, and play a profound role in implementing our corporate strategic plan and achieving rapid, high-quality development.
